Divide and Conquer from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I need to use The Task Master more often. I got a lot done yesterday. YES - in the back of my head, I know what needs to be done, but that doesn't always mean that I focus on that. I'm easily distracted!

Knowing that I have a list that I can check off and keeping it open on the ironing board makes me focus on what I should be doing, not what I want to do!

So there are 13 items on the list this week - that might be a bit ambitious, but some of them are not ...

Productivity on the rise! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I was on a roll yesterday, and I never did get out on the bike. I was exhausted by dinner time, and I could barely do some stretching, let alone get out on the bike!

Well, it was a super productive day, and honestly, we need to be careful what we wish for!

So, I've decided that I need to resurrect The Task Master. What is that? It's simply a notebook where I write down what I need/want to accomplish that week. Why did I resurrect it? I want to be able to see what I've ...

Quilter's SIXTH sense from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm not sure where this came from, but I have a Quilter's SIXTH sense. Too often, I've just winged something because I was too lazy to do the math. I forged ahead and figured if I ran into trouble that I'd come up with Plan B. Well, it happened this morning. I can't show you the picture because it's for my UFO homework, but I worked on a border.

The pattern said I needed FOUR sections, and I only had three. Now what? Well, I went ahead with the three sections. I sewed and ...

Productivity is on the rise from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was a super productive day! I love those kinds of days. If you're like me, you just can't sew fast enough to keep up with the ideas in your head. And these are NOT new ideas. These are just things that I find around the studio that I think will only take a few hours to finish, and well, days later, I'm still working on them.

I decided it was time to get something finished instead of just thinking about finishing it or advancing the project.

The first thing to deal with was changing that light ...

The dirty dozen (s) from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So it was the last official Sit n Sew on Sunday. I had work to complete for a customer - you'll see in a minute, but I also had time to work on something for me.

Here's the deal - I made a list of 12 UFOs that I wanted to complete in 2017. I was silly and actually put thirteen items on the list - a bonus. How thoughtful of myself - NOT! There are still four items left to finish on that list. All of them are piecing (one has some fusible applique), but I don't think any of ...

Sit and Sew aftermath from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh boy - what a day! I just love our Sit n Sew days and wouldn't trade them for the world. There were ten of us toiling away and boy  - did we get work done! I'm so happy with what I accomplished - well - wait for it.

Diane arrived nice and early and we got to work putting the mitered border on her HUGE quilt. The top is done and I noticed that the quilt (and the backing) stayed behind to be quilted by me! That's OK - we'd already made that arrangement.

Then she got to work on ...
